Generally speaking manual shutters are always going to be more cost effective than electric shutters but manual shutters can only be made to a limited size, except hand chain operated shutters that can be made to any size.

How we price our shutters:

Material - The material the shutter is made of gives a starting point for the price of the shutter. 

Finish to the shutter - A standard galvanised finish or the shutter powder coated to a stock finish is always going to be more cost effective than a non standard finish or non standard colour.

Type of shutter - A solid curtain on a shutter is best value, punched, perforated or open style shutters require additional processes in manufacture so increase the costs.

Operation - Manual operated push up/pull down shutters are the easiest to install and easiest to make making them the most cost effective shutters. Manual shutters can only be made to a certain size for larger openings electric operation is going to be required. Key switch or a fixed button to operate the shutter is always cheaper than having a shutter remote control operated.

Supply only or supplied & installed -  Often the biggest cost of fitting a roller shutter is the installation, if you can fit the shutter yourself then this will give the biggest saving.
